Charleston is an easy place to meet people, party and have fun. The cops won't bother you much as long as you're good little boy's and girl's. Good manners really do go far in this town. Open container is against the law, and you'll notice funny little "airplane bottles" of liquor in every bar you go to, this also is a state law. No free pour is allowed anywhere in the state. Most of the bars in the downtown area are in walking distance to each other, if not a very cheap cab ride. See Charleston's restaurants, bars and clubs, and local bands

The music farm opened in 1991, and soon became, THE place to party in Charleston. Bands from every walk of life (such as Blues Traveler, Hootie and the Blowfish, and Jump Little Children) play at the Farm when not perfoming at the North Charleston Coliseum. In my hay days in Charleston, "The Farm", as it's referred to by the locals, is a must for a night time party spot.
